I have been practising yoga for over 30 years and have gained a lot of experience of the postures and the benefits of doing yoga regularly.
Yoga is all about creating balance in the body and the mind and unleashing energy to circulate freely around the body keeping it healthy and renewed.
The postures are very adaptable for all and the beauty of yoga is that you only take the postures to where is comfortable for you.
I concentrate the awareness of using breath to movement to settle the mind, and in doing so, you get huge benefits of using your full lung capacity and control of your breath which helps to manage anxiety and stress.
Yoga has so many proven benefits helping muscles to lengthen and strengthen, increasing bone density and helping guard against osteoporosis. Having strong core muscles helps to protect lower backs and reduces back pain in general. Yoga utilises these muscles in most postures. Relaxation is included in every class as this helps to consolidate the benefits of the postures practiced and allows any toxins in the body to release.
